Support Chess.com TV

Sites other than the official one seem to have access to the post-match press conferences...  Is this a possibility for chess.com?

By far the best broadcast today. Daniel was very good. The chat was also informative and I enjoyed it. Would still like to see a better board than the one used though.

But well done Chess.com.

I agree that the current layout for the video feed feels pretty unprofessional. The only way to really work this out is to continue supporting it and suggesting better ways to do things.

I do like how the talking head was positioned today, though the board felt cramped. Is there any way to make the entire thing wider, that would clean up the way things look and allow for a better layout? I know a lot of space on my monitor is underutilized due to it's width.

I wish chess.com would archive these so those of us who missed it or wanted to watch it again could do so.

Every chess.com/tv broadcast IS archived, and has been. Go to the page, and click on the "On Demand" link.

I liked how, as predicted, there was virtually no spam and the discuss was heavily chess based. David (who was in the chat) managed to answer something like 7/8 of my questions, because my Qs werent surrounded by spam and he had time to read them, and Danny even had time to read the jokes people were making about him, as well as all the questions! So from a quality point of view, the spammers have to be stopped; whatever method was in place today worked.

I agree that the chat was IMMENSELY more pleasant today. There was the occasional dumb remark (I won't name names), but it was a LOT less than when everyone is in there.

Sweet! Thanks furtiveking! And I'm sorry I ever doubted you chess.com

Well, I'm at a loss as to how to "go to the page". The only time I can access it is live when the icon is there to click. Can somebody help?

Avatar of gbidari

Thanks RainbowRising! I had to go to "Fun" eh. And click those tiny buttons. I never would have found it without this help. Thanks again!

Nope, Platinum/Diamond only...

thanks for the feedback, thanks for helping others out by telling them how to see the recorded videos, and gbidari, you are forgiven for doubting US!! hehe.

paul, i appreciate you seeing that much as i do. slight correction: we are offering 6 of the 9 first games for all members. games 8 and 9 on tues and thurs will be for basic members.

the chat was good today. we have some serious issues with making it "look more professional." i would like to make it a bit snazzier, but the programs are also supposed to be on the fun/casual side. (that's why i placed it in the "fun" menu). also, for finding it, the url is not too hard to remember: www.chess.com/tv . there you go!

:)

hahaha, good to hear kramakintews!

ouch..., my fellows, David enjoys a lot with your "feedback". Bring someone hear for a bit of criticism. That would be good for his self-esteem.

Paul211, if there's one thing I've learned about chess.com TV, it is this:

"Do NOT trust the schedule, under any circumstances!"

I mean, yesterdays game wasn't even covered by Friedel and Sharma, it was IM Rensch. Besides which, this schedule has it listed as game 8, when it was actually game 6. So your posted schedule, Paul, has two imaginary games on it.

Lingretal:

I'm not complaining about the misinformation, I was just showing that Paul could not use the schedule to form an argument. Wink

I think the analysis commentary provided exceeds most of my meager chess skills, and I learn a lot by reviewing it.

Will the exposure to IM/GM ideas and 'thoughts behind the moves' improve my chess?  probably not, I have too many years of bad chess habits and the habits are well ingrained.

But I do enjoy the learning exposure they are providing to all of us.

I think it is really a great move to allow all users to watch/listen to some of the broadcasts.

sorry about the Rensch v. Friedel+Sharma error. and in general for often having some inaccuracies in the schedule! mea culpa.

i think most of the schedule is correct though, right now. games 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, and 9 were/are all "free-to-all" broadcasts. from which i count 6. the 'your games analyzed' show on thursdays is as well, but was not part of my math.
