Either move was possible by black. the result is the same.

I'm new to chess and I try to do the five free tactics most days.
Today I was left very puzzled.
Black king is f8, and the expected move is Bg7+ and that the king will go Kg8, meaning white rook can take Rxe8+.
But why wouldn't the black king take the bishop on g7? I'm totally confused.
