Joining a club (a real life chess club near you) is probably the best thing you can try.
Then follow the above advice.

As for joining a Club it apparently helps…or just go for the Social Interaction.

At the moment I suck badly. And nothing seems to be helping, puzzles, practise games, learning new openings. On a big losing trend o er the last month at about 40% win rate and just doing STUPID things all the time.
