You can actually go into the Tactics Trainer settings page at http://www.chess.com/tactics/settings.html and switch to "unrated" training mode and then "save". Then you can enjoy the Tactics Trainer without the added stress of the timing.

I guess a lot of people don't know that. I didn't.
Why don't the people who want an untimed tactics trainer just let the time run out on the timed one if they need it to, and not worry about it?
