Today, after reading the Dream Team complaint thread, I finally investigated the notion of how groups play team matches, and team vote chess games. Very cool! There never seems to be an end to the great features I find here.
I'm looking forward to playing in a few matches with Team America, which is one of these large country-teams, but I think it would be a lot of fun to play in a smaller group as well. I'm sure there are many excellent small groups, but to me, it's more fun to represent something rather than just join up with a bunch of strangers.
What do people think about the notion of teams representing your college or university? Would other people have some interest in something like that? Personally, I'm a Penn Stater; I think it would be a blast to play with fellow Nittany Lions against teams from other schools. There are a couple of groups representing colleges now, but not many. If we could get a handful of schools that can field teams of half a dozen boards on a consistent basis, though, we could probably even set up a rudimentary league.
Sound interesting?
