Bobby Fischer didn't go crazy. He was right in saying how murderous the U.S. was. Just ask anybody from Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, or any of those other countries.
Perhaps his statements against Jews were out of hand, but his comments on "Israel" were not. It is true that it is wrong to take someone else's land and then claim that the original people there are "trespassers." That is what "Israel" is. The U.S. and Britain stole that land from the Palestinians-something Fischer had said. Before that, Jews and Palestinians lived in relative peace. Now, because of "Israel," there is all this bloodshed.
Who knows. He could have been born a paranoid schizophrenic as well. It usually first appears in the mid to late 20's, after which he disappeared. Later in life, he claimed people were monitoring his thoughts through an alleged metal plate in his head and subsequently removed metal fillings in his teeth. The events in his life would have provided the kindling for the disorder to express itself.
Don't know, but to me that's the simplest explanation.
(A side note--he did go by "Fisher" at one point in his life.)
John Carlin, in an article titled “The End Game of Bobby Fischer” in the Observer/Guardian (February 10, 2008), described Fischer, during his final years, as looking like a homeless bum. “His teeth were rotten, and his white hair and beard were long and unkempt.” Bobby had a low opinion of doctors and dentists. He had all the metal fillings in his teeth removed because he thought radiation from them was injuring his health, or perhaps American or Russian enemies were causing the harmful radiation from his molars.

That's a summary, he also believed that Russians/Americans were monitoring him through the fillings in his teeth - according to 'Bobby Fischer Goes to War'.
"He had all the metal fillings in his teeth removed because he thought radiation from them was injuring his health,"
Not a symptom of paranoid schizophrenia.
"or perhaps American or Russian enemies were causing the harmful radiation from his molars."
That's the author's guess. Did Fischer actually say it?
