I was not referring to Methanol, I was referring to the chemicals such as Benzine that is used to remove the 5% water to make 200 proof Ethanol as dangerous to consume.

Yes it is, the only alcohol safe to consume. But it can't be straight Ethanol with the water content(which is safe) because of the 95/5 distillation rate. 100% Ethanol is unsafe because of the chemicals used to remove the 5% water are still in trace amounts in the Ethanol; enough to harm you.
