There are just a lot of hornballs on this site.

Maybe they need to do more Google image searching before they log on just to clear their pipes and take a load off.

Even if you are gay, its a bit weird...

most men i know who are gay generally tend to be proud of the fact they are men who like other men, and so it doesn't make sense they would have a womans picture there...

maybe i am missing some thing here...

no it's just you. most people pick their avatar as something they like not what you like.  think about this   Did you ask your opponents name ?

it has nothing to do with what i like or what their name is. incidentally, Skibaby has already been identified as a gender ambiguous (i invented a new phrase!) name and so it is easy to asume they are women. the point of avatars is that it says something about you. generally, men tend to gravitate towards masculine pictures i.e. a cat hunting or fighting, a famous, athlete, a super hero or the warrior of death. all masculine images.

that is what is weird about it, and why it particularly jars with the men in this forum, not because the images the men have chosen are partcularly hot (Skibaby please stand up), but because it goes against the masculine imagery of what we usually select

your avatar is considered to be your representative of who you are in the virtual world. so what does a picture of a woman say about a guy???

*sighs* so, i put across a reasonable reason why we think that using a female avatar for men, as opposed to the usual masculie imagery might be percieved as a little strange, and i get two "accusations" that i'm gay.

very mature. well done.

i could lower myself to your levels, but i won't. all i will say is that i in no way implied you were gay so try not to go COMPLETELY homophobic on us...

Why is it so important to you to know what your opponents look like  does it matter the hot girl you think your playing is reall a 75 year old gramma what differance does it really make i thoought we were all here to play chess maybe talk to some new people from around the world share tips and just have some fun I really didn't know by using a picture that wasn't really me would offend so many MEN  which still leads me to wonder what are you saying to the Female members during chat that you would be so put off. I guess your right I dont have an intelligent arguement I am a guy playing chess and having some normal conversations with whoever i play with man, woman , cat or dog doesn't matter to me who or what you are just here to play  so Quadnip if you want to play great send me a challenge if not well to bad i would of enjoyed the competition

HotFlow wrote:

So you see nothing weird in 75 year old gramma pretending to be a hot girl?

But still, the fact you are willing to attempt to have a "normal conversation" with a "cat" or a "dog" is even more worrying.

So I assume you don't have any pets  because if you did you would find it quite normal to talk to you dog  I know I do. I'm   not much of a cat person so I can't really speck on that. but if you are to assume that evey avatar you see on any site is the actual person your talking to I have some pics of some really nice vacation land you might be interested in.
