how would you do that?
This Is Wrong Chess.com

So here is my argument to the situation.
I read the blog multiple times, even before it was removed. It only tells you about Hitler's chess ability, how the game between him vs Lenin was setup, the game, and if its real. He also said
Right there, he said that he did not support what he did. Also the thumbnail. I mean, what else he is going to put in there, the blog stated about Hitler, so why not put his face in there, whats the difference between making the blog on his game, and putting his face in the thumbnail?
And that it is offensive to Jews, again, this is not reference to his actions in any way, is just saying his name and his game enough to be offensive? Even a Jewish top blogger said he liked the post.
And that chess.com has a right to demote him, yes they do, but we are protesting against it, if he really should be demoted or not. He made high quality posts, and got a following, and actually puts the time into his blogs unlike a certain top blogger that I know... Even if he deleted it, is the damage done? Hornet, really took the time, it seems unfair that he did demoted, away from the top of the list where many people can see his blogs.
It is not a form of hate speech, or anything offensive, it is just chess. Overall, I think that @HornetCruise should be given his title back, and that demoting him is unjustified.

If I took a screenshot from the article, of Hitler, and selectively quoted the article could I come up with a misleading story of the contrary and make chess.com look bad?
Just like Trump is a racist, or Tate hates women, perhaps Hornet, through the presentation of an astute adversary was pro hitter, pro Bin Laden or pro Zelensky.
Was Chess.com covering their political booty?
That makes a bunch of sense, because posting a picture of someone means you agree with the horrible atrocities they committed.
Thanks,

Judging by your flag you live in the united states.
You know people do this all the time to make their political opponents look worse?
Oh that person is a racist, oh that person hates law enforcement, or this religious group, or this sexuality or whatever else.
A picture here, an outlandish remark there.
Literally could snapshot Hornet's article, the picture and say they are romanticizing Hitler and that chesscom is a nazi platform or whatever other sensational cap.
A story like that might even do well on youtube or tiktok.
I was being sarcastic in my comment haha. Yes, I agree, it's stupid.

This whole affair raises a question of whether Chess.com puts it's shareholders or members first.
I mean your statement makes objective sense. But the issue is if they even thought that might become an issue why would they handle it how they did even after he reached out to them?

how would you do that?
you click the blogs section of the site then the green button on the right for applying, look at the article then fill out the form although it takes awhile for them to review but i hope they see it

Perhaps, has the OP played any games vs chess.com staff?
Could this be a personal grudge?
Doubtful. I would not think a mod would be that petty. And while I understand not wanting to jeopardize your site because of legit harmful material but this seems so much more like straight up cancel culture. Like I dont even see how you quote the blog out of context tbh. And that being said any blog could be quoted out of context and if that was the case why give anyone top blogger? Hornet can still post blogs so its not like they are censoring all of his stuff.

The whole money making aspect of chess.com at the expense of their users' sanity is not something I can get around
Expense of sanity? Like do you mean frustration or like actionable damages?
I dont see how the blog could be actionable damages tbh

Chess.com is based in Cali. And a country is having a civil war right now, Chess.com canceled the whole thing can't even use it's flag.
Do you think cancel culture is a problem on a chess site, or is it okay?
I think it is a huge problem. I was against it from the beginning
oh I was gifted mine so I can't boycott
Should other users do so?
That’d just waste money as they have already paid

Also they only cancelled one sides flag which is also a huge political stance imo
Abraham Lincoln said a country should be on it's own side, in a unified front.
Chess.com is supporting the blue and yellow not the red white and blue. big difference

Depends, the parent state said it's all red white and blue.
Blue and yellow wants to break off and secede.
Blue and yellow is in no way America tho

That's why I'm trying to promote variants but when one of your only good aspects is dying it's hard to want to continue
LUL
Let's end it here and wait for a staff to say something. If no one shows up we can consider boycotting? Honestly might even switch to lichess, the only reason I'm still here is variants and socializing
those are literally the only two things that chess.com has over lichess, lichess is clear in front in terms of everything else
Doesn’t Lichess have variants too
Also guys we can’t say l*chess on this site we will get 1984’d!1!q!1!1!1’1
did anyone make a #JusticeForHornet thread on L*chess?
We should do that!!!!1!!1!

Would a mass exodus to lichess be a bargaining chip?
Would Lichess have supported Hornet and been more classy?
there would never be enough people and it's not like chess.com would ever care
Lichess would have the same amount of people + what they already have if we went over there
Lichess has smaller servers tho
Plus there’s no telling what’ll happen, people may not go over there too
