Note also that the ENTIRE position has to be repeated three times. I once had an opponent who thought he was entitled to a draw because he moved his King back and forth three times, while I was making moves that did not repeat in any way.
Yep, and you must be able to make the same legal moves besides of that (e.g. castling or taking en passant), if I'm not wrong.

En passant would not be possible.

Hi I have been struggling to find out how to gain a draw by threefold repetition in one of my games and was wondering if anyone could offer some insight. Would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
