time cheaters in blitz

I’m sick of having opponents freezing clock at end games and running my time down on their move.. Happens frequently and chess.com refuses to acknowledge it or address it. this is not a time delay in servers as they claim.. Cheating players are somehow manipulating the time.. This is not sour grapes, this is a real problem.. I’ll be switching to a different chess site if not addressed.

They have acknowledged your complaint and have attempted to explain patiently why you are mistaken in the Help pages.

The explanation they give makes perfect sense to me. Your opponents aren't doing anything.

You have lost more than 150 games by time forfeit, far more than by resignation or checkmate.  Maybe you need to play faster or play slower time controls.

in due respect I understand ur explanation, however, I move in one to 2 seconds and lose 7-8 seconds per move, my time is not compensated by server delay, sorry makes no sense to me. This server delay issue only occurs in my endgames when opposing player is in trouble, not during the entire game. Something is not right..Clock freezes on his move, he moves and I lose 15 seconds after I move in one second..

The server only will compensate for 1 or 2 seconds of lag (two different help article have different values), so if there is a lot of lag, or the client has to do a lot of resends, you can still lose time.

Some things you can look at.

Fix your internet. Chess.com can't fix your lag.
