Toxicity at high level

Oh ok
But how can people write such things??? I have a friend that is like ~1650 in Rapid and I think I am a lot better than him and he is very overrated. I can’t even imagine to tell him that! But such toxicity in your chats is crazy.

Welcome to anonymous internet
This site, chess and my career is far too important for me to become a famous abuser! I guess these 2100+ players don’t love chess as much as I do. 🙂
Ok but how did you go from 1600 to 2400 in one day? are you using some sort of ping manipulation or macro?
@Jona-Gr1800, it can be shocking. But now that you know all kinds of people flood this website, be prepared. I turned off gear lower left Settings > All Settings > Social > Game Chat.
But that irritated me ... why stop chatting with fun and nice folks just because of some potential weirdo? So now I leave it on but at first word of abuse, I flip CHAT OFF. Best of both worlds and simple. I adore being able lightly chat as the OP is up for it. I've made good friends that way. :-)
In everything and everywhere, all kinds of people press in from all sides. Keep yourself digitally safe. And if they persist, BLOCK THEM. They aren't not worth ruining your fun with chess!!!
ADDED: Make sure you can locate the Chat off button on your particular device when in games. I'm only familar with my own (Chrome browser). Probably lower right maybe in hamburger menu.

When you are suspect, you are right to simply report them. Chess.com has a team of techs handling it and they are highly skilled, we aren't. I would be suspicious of that as well.
But I do NOT know anything about if accounts can be merged, or did the guy play 260 bullets in one night or ??? NOT for us to worry ... REPORT and move on. :-)
Bullet players are more spastic like this than other players. I can't tell you why but it's a clear trend. Maybe the game mode has just driven them to it. Or maybe it's what attracts them. It's a crap game mode.

I think a lot of players are high school kids who haven't yet grown up or horrible adults who never will.
... When i made a fatal mouse slip in rapid and told the other person via chat feature that it was a mouse slip, the instantly send me a draw offer, what a legend. I dont think anyone over 2200 would have ever done that too me.
I'm sure lots of players would. We're not all rating-hungry monsters
.
Here, my opponent mouse-slipped his knight away. I agreed to a draw. (We're both 2400 players). It's just a game, after all.
But really, the ultimate lesson you should learn: keep your chat disabled. Everything is so peaceful, without it!

Recently I've been playing a lot of hyperbullet (please dont judge), which made me improve arround 800 elo points, jumping me up to 2400. I know this does not represent my skill. I know i dont deserve to be this high rated. At the end of the day its just a number on a screen, many people take it way to serious tho. Especially at the high 2200s and above, where people just constantly try to insult and demotivate you. I personally believe that if one feels down they should'nt be letting their bad mood out on others. I dont remember exactly what they wrote but it was something like:
1. Do you show your fake rating to your mommy? (This has to be satire 🤣, not necessarily toxic but definitly hilarious)
2. Game ends in a win for me
Player: Im literally crying
Me: Oh no, why are you feeling down
Player: Im crying tears of happiness. Happy that you will have to suffer eternally in hell (???)
3. (i remember this one word for word) Game ends in a loss for me Player: How pathetic, go bury urself with your hand full of tears (Why do people constantly think that one crys after they loose)

This was only the case for untitled players, and i never encountered any titled players or players under the elo of 2200 doing this sort of behavior. Rather the opposite. When i made a fatal mouse slip in rapid and told the other person via chat feature that it was a mouse slip, the instantly send me a draw offer, what a legend. I dont think anyone over 2200 would have ever done that too me.
Is this the case because hyperbullet is such a "niche internet circle" or is chess at that level just in general really toxic.
