Troubles with typing posts

I am not sure if this is site related or if it is my new laptop doing this to me, but while I am typing a message my cursor will move to another part of the message and continue my sentence in the middle of one that was completed.

 Any thoughts?

I occassionally log in here using my laptop, it happens on mine aswell, but only on private messages and forum posts .. not on notes or  blogs.

Once i've re-typed a few times, it seems to work ok..

weird... could it be your touchpad software?

possibly, as it only ever happens on my laptop.. it doesn't happen on my desktop pc's.

The thought crossed my mind that the touch pad is causing it, but i figured i would pose the question, and see what people thought.  I will look into the touch pad to see if that is my problem.

After playing around with the touch pad I have discovered that the outer edges of the pad house additional functions.  Thanks for the tip Erik.
