Wow! Mahalo Erik!

WyoKid

Well, I'll have to upgrade to diamond now as for a little more than my platinum membership I'll get unlimited access to chess mentor.

Yeah thats what I am just looking at! If Platinum goes cheaper I might upgrade to it.. but only cause I likes my tactics trainer an awful lot even if I don't have as much time as I always like to give it! I could spend hours at it! Or are we talking a rather high limit per day?

erik

Question: Does gold gain anything?

Answer: Yes! The ability to upgrade to other plans for much cheaper Tongue out. Seriously though, we are adding two new features to gold access that will hopefully more than make up for the few people who will be affected by limitation in Tactics.

That's the great thing about membership at Chess.com - we keep improving and not raising the price, so you continually get more for you money without having to pay more ;)

Ah erik's media skills forcing us into upgrading ;)

So can we bargain at 100 tactics per day? Innocent heh

Oh dear Lord... I thought I got 24 hours of tactics trainer TOTAL.  I had no idea it was limited to a certain number in 24 hours...  Seems I now have much more to do in my spare time!

I currently have a subscription with chess mentor - what would be the equivalent to the new plan?

Nytik

My only question is; do you have a rough date when these changes take place?

Nytik, Erik said "not before December 15th."

gyrow32, it sounds like diamond. Basically, for $99/year instead of just getting Chess Mentor, you also get a site membership.

Great! sounds like a deal. thanks mike

If platinum price falls are you going to give the difference back or add  $XX of time back to the account?

"All accounts will be automatically and seamlessly transitioned." So I'm guessing the $80 I paid for my membership... it will be reduced for the next year's payment I will make and the price I already paid won't be changed or refunded... correct? Anywho, I am super happy there are new updates coming! Happy Holidays, best of luck to the Chess.com staff.

Of the $80 you paid, you have received $50 of the value ($20 shirt, $30 gift membership) up front, so your Platinum membership renewal date (or end date) will not change from what it currently is. But next year you will pay a lot less (and not receive a shirt or gift membership, which will be available seperately).

no, because as a platinum member you have already received a significant portion of your value up-front: the shirt and gift membership (total of $50 value). the remaining $30 of value will play out on your normal membership time-frame.

So...now that chess mentor is part of the dimond memberships will that still be availible on a monthly basis?

yes

So I could purchace a gold for a year then upgrade to a dimond/mentor level  for the difference in price for a month or more then revert to gold after that?

correct!

Hugh_T_Patterson

OK Erik, You've talked me into a paid membership. I owe this site a great deal and haven't bought a membership because I've been too scatter brained the last three months.
