It is a little confusing at first but it also shows the material difference too, so you can quickly see if it is even or one side is ahead.

Am I the only one who finds it confusing the way captured pieces are shown in v3 (to be honest I can't remember what v2 showed even though I still use it on my home PC)?
Why do I have my own pieces that have been captured just below the board on my side rather than my opponent's captured pieces as I would have if it were a real game of chess.
I always have to double-check to work out exactly what the situation is even though usually I am more focused on what is on the board than off it. Early game it is much quicker to check the pieces off the board than on it though and it just seems totally the wrong way round!
