Vacation Abuse III

FYI - we have heard you on this issue. i love the suggestions. we will work on something. we have implemented the MUST MOVE BEFORE YOU GO, and I hope that is helping, though it isn't ideal. the checkbox for vacation/no-vacation probably won't happen for technical reasons, etc. but we will eventually have a feedback system where you can rate your opponent.

in the meantime, let me offer this advice for what it is worth:

if you have an opponent who is taking a long time, start up another game and just enjoy! i play 20+ games at a time so i don't even know what my opponents are or are not doing. my thoughts only :)

Now reserves monkey messaged me 2 times saying "accept the draw cause this game is going to take forever." basically threatening me to accept a draw or he'll drag it out as long as he can. you can check my profile to see it! Reservesmonkey is an idiot.

What is the status of the feedback system?  I believe this was posted nearly a year ago, is it still in the works?

Initially I was also pissed off by vacations and guys leaving off games in the middle (I had 3 who dropped off in the middle, 2 who did not start at all and I had to abort). Now I feel sorry for the guy who was running 30+ correspondence games (I was one of them) - his vacation time ran out, and he timed out in all the 30+ games - his rating dropped from 1600+ to 1300+!

He may have been stuck somewhere, fallen ill, or met with an accident - nobody times out 30+ games for trivial reasons!

So I think we should not be hasty in passing judgement on others - Judge not lest you be judged

Yes, you have to be careful because life has a bad habit of creeping into your chess playing. This is why (even though I hear plenty of complaining) I tend to play  "three day move" games.

The problem I have had with that rule, is that sometimes I have a few oppenents online at the same time as me, so by the time I've gone through and moved in all my games, then gone to my settings and ticked the appropriate box to go on vacation, one of my opponents have moved, and I find I can't go on vaction beacuse it's always my move in a game.
