Verbal abuse during chat.

I was verbally abused during a game in the chat, and this happened for no reason. The other person just decided to engage in verbal abuse. I am trying to contact moderators about it, but I am not quite optimistic about it.

I just feel like this person should not be able to get away with this. It was just something that I can tell the other person did it on purpose, just to get aroused by the fact that he/she was verbally abusing me.

You should report them using the report link on their profile.

https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone

Thousands of accounts are closed for abuse every month.

You could also Disable Chat...then they can't do any of that. The alternative is to cuss them out and get muted...

Shut off chat, block and report.

People that say stop crying are the types of people to verbally abuse people themselves

I don't verbally abuse but it's come to the point where these types of threads are so common and it's annoying.

Dumb threads are created everyday. Just ignore it.

This educative video might help the OP, I hope jcarbondiaz can overcome that horrible abuse and experience he had to endure:

There is a cross sign in the chat which will block the chat permanently.

You can report to chess.com by clicking on his name once, "More", "Report".

And you can block with the same steps so he/she does not again verbal abuse you personally.

I enjoy trash talk.

It enhances the game.

What a thought process?

This ain't trash talk, it is abuse, which says bad words to you.

People who talk smack usually know that they will lose the game. If it happens to you, just report them. I was threatened by some guy about my division, saying if I took back first place, he would, well you know. But just report people who are verbally harassing you.

Correct

This mostly happens when you are winning, or you are losing but up on time, or you are winning but on low on time, or you have a lot of time, they want to distract you. They don't mean what they say. They should just accept their loss.
