I am categorically against playing under a non-Russian flag, being a citizen of the Russian Federation. Your act is very low, it is incorrect and infringes on our rights...

TheSwissPhoenix

Tbh it’s hilarious half the time when they’re like “you’re cheating” when you literally blundered your entire advantage lmao

MightyPowerRangers

I agree with ya, in a way. Trash talk is fun, and it can enhance the game, but not with random people on the internet. Its gotta be with people you at least somewhat know, because when they do it, you can tell it’s just playful nagging and not an outright insult.

If a friend said “you’re so bad at this game” (which happens a lot in the communities of the games I play) I would just shrug it off because i know they’re kidding. But if a random person says it, it’s just disrespectful.

You are bad at this game

Again we have an abuser on the forum

Again we have a person with no sense of humor on the forum

Yup

É chato demais, algumas pessoas ao invés de simplesmente jogarem e se divertirem, ficarem com ofensas.

You have no such rights.  Nor does anyone else have a right to display any flag here at all.

You do not represent your country here (unless you are going to play in some online Olympiad?)...the flags on Chess.com don't mean anything, nor can you rely on the ones chosen to be at all accurate.

I personally find it morally wrong to play anyone under a Russian flag at the moment. Although it is fundamentally not the Russian peoples fault around the world events at this time I cannot hand on heart give my wages up to assist Ukrainian charities and enjoy playing someone bearing a Russian flag. It’s not the words on here that taint your country but your governments actions. I understand you may not see or realise this and there are 2 sides to every story but please look for both sides of your countries actions and propaganda.

No I was following on from the conversations around playing under your countries flags and at this time this is what the Russian flag means to me. It is a fact that the world is now in the place it is in and this is not intended to be decisive. But I do not believe it is a bad or wrong thought process it is my personal feeling. I made it clear - I hope - that it is the flag and the Russian government I have an issue with. Whilst this is a thread on verbal abuse i at sure that there may have been some abuse towards the Russians on chess.com and I for one am not instigating or condoning that behaviour. No one playing chess should be subjected to abuse and it is infact illegal in the uk.

But what is wrong with you? Chess.com has allowed it.

Chess.com is only here to play and communicate

To be fair I’ve seen the link now and you are right that chess.com have it in hand. Apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick.
