Vote Chess & Clubs?

I was just curious about how vote chess with clubs works. I know that many clubs part-take in vote chess, so what happens if you are a member in two clubs playing a vote chess game against each other? Are you obligated to choose only one team to play for? Can you not compete in this match since you belong to both clubs? etc.

I am considering joining multiple clubs on chess.com, so what is the answer for my scenario? I just don't want a conflict of interest and am curious if anyone has ever been a member of both clubs in a vote chess game against each other - what is the status and what are the set guidelines for this hypothetical scenario?

I don't know if it's the same as with daily chess (probably?), but in the 3 days per move match between clubs I both belonged to, the website simply forbid me from participating. Looks like conflict of interests simply blocks you from playing in any of both clubs.

No idea how it works in bigger tournaments with multiple clubs playing.

It would be unfair to join a vote chess match and play both sides, because you would receive inside information and could influence the moves to the detriment of a group. I don't think chess.com allows that, but I've never tried. I only belong to a few groups, if you join many, then really it is just for the sake of joining, as you are unlikely to do anything with most.

Thank you for clarification; I thought chess.com may do something like this and this was a scenario I was curious about. I didn't want to join multiple clubs if I play vote chess due to this possibility - thanks; I feel better about joining multiple clubs now happy.png

I sensed this "inside information" problem too and that is why I created this forum. I think prohibiting you from playing in that specific match would make the most sense, but as Scarlet_Evans wrote: I too have "No idea how it works in bigger tournaments with multiple clubs playing."

You need to pick one. Either white or black. Once you pick one, you cannot join the other side. Even if you drop out of your first pick.

Yeah I'd be interested in something like this as well,I'm just afraid if I put my vote in,people who disagree with it,will start judging me based on my rating here and Keseto,we've already talked about that.
