We did have a State of Chess.com in August that covered many of the features that are up and coming :) We're still on that same track. Here's a great article that covers what was said in the broadcast:

in a lot of other sites and games, the developers activly engage the community by telling them what they are currently working on, give an outlook on what features to expect in the future and share with the community if there is progress or impediments. Although i looked through the forum and the news section i was not able to find that on chess.com. I would really like to see at least a little bit of that.
