What do you think of players who takes 3 days to make every single move?

If you don't want games to last that long, play shorter games...
I want to have the maximum of 3 days to think in complicated positions, as well as have some time allowance in case I'm busy with other matters or have issues accessing the internet. But I mostly make my moves within a day. I just don't understand why some people need to take 3 days even when the position is straightforward and the best move is obvious.

Start playing 14 day chess and get used to players moving on 13th day 23rd hour.
Develop more patience.
And then come back to 3 day chess.
Or else why not just play bullet and ultrabullet, eh?

You could ask them to hurry up in the chat section. But maybe they just have a busy life and chess is not their priority

Since you and opponent have agreed to play XYZ days/move, the opponent has full right to make use of his XYZ days to make a move. You both have agreed to play XYZ days/move.
Otherwise, you should have have changed the time control to a format more suited for you at the very beginning itself.
That's my take on the matter.

People are busy, mate.

Wow, everyone disagrees with the poster? i personally agree with him. i am a very patient person, and i understand being busy, but every single move taking the full 3 days is just pushing the limits. i believe sometimes its done purposefully, as some lame tactic. Also, many of the tournaments use this format.

I've played a few games where the opponent took the full 3-day limit, and some have added vacation time, too! Not a problem most of the time, although I sometimes have to figure out just what I was planning, or thinking. That's where notes can be useful.
I have also taken just about 3 days to make some moves at times in some games. Depends on how many other games I was playing at the time. I've cut way back on games played. At one point I had about 40 on the go. Now, I know some of you can even be up in triple figures, but 40 for me was way too many.
Long and the short of it - no big deal.

Your reply to just playing 1 day per move is?
Reading over, just seems OP insists on 3 days for his own needs whilst denying his opponent the same.

sometimes its good to know the time is there if needed. i have nothing against these players, please dont misunderstand. the same thing happens in the shorter matches. the move is painfully obvious, yet there we sit. On more than one occasion, my opponent has been online, then left without making a move.
Ahhh...you know what forget it. im just glad we have this site to play on.

don't expect them to log on everyday.

I'm generally fine with opponents taking all the time they need, within the agreed time limit for the game. In fact, I actually prefer slower players. I only play 2-3 day limits, and currently average a bit over 11 hours per move.

I personally do 14 day games. I work out at sea and have limited wifi and sometimes have to wait until I'm back on land to make a move. maybe people are busy, or in my case have limited internet access. not everyone around the world has good internet all of the time. especially in rural areas. that doesn't mean they can't enjoy a game of chess against someone on the other side of the world.

What if people have a life and are busy? Both you and them agreed to play with x amount of time/move.
