what is going on with puzzles?

The UI on mobile is really bad. I really hate having a cartoon character taking up a 1/4 of the screen telling me moves are good. Then below that we have a graph showing the ups and downs. This is awful. I tried turning on “classic puzzles” but it hasn’t made a difference for the interface.

Not to pull the I’ve been paying for 8 years and this makes me want to cancel card but I really am wanting to cancel as I cannot stand this new UI. I just want to see chess and not superfluous information and distractions. If we have the ability to toggle to just a chess board then great no problem. But when I am forced to have so much on the screen, in a game where you typically want to limit distractions, it makes me NOT want to open this app.

Can we please have the option to go back. Please @mods @chessteam @ANYONE

YES, I fully agree. Please include the option of a plain chess board. I want to focus on the puzzle, not stare at a man with a goatee.

There's going to be an option added to remove coach from puzzles. You can turn it off for everything currently but then coach comments won't show on Game Review either I don't think.

Thank you Martin. I understand the marketing and coaching aspect these features provide to new and existing customers. There is a group of people I believe that really love barebones chess platforms. Minimalist (zen mode) like play is enough to satisfy. Obviously, engagement is important too. However, if we can have an option to keep it as minimal as possible with toggleable features that would make a lot of people happy and of course for new and others that want to have access to those features that can start as default, "on."

For me, the new interface is not friendly. A guy with a beard speaking for children, no diagram ranking (it was in the bottom left corner in the app - in PC it has long since disappeared, which is a pity). I'm not interested in level hopping, I'm interested in the ranking diagram puzzle. Very badly chosen colours in the PC version. 
New is not always better than old. It would be good to make the interface selectable. I understand it's a cost on the server (memory etc), but at least such an option for paying people.

On Android it's under More > Settings > Coach 

I'm not 100% sure that works but saw a post about it.

Chess.com is generally responsive to user feedback, so expressing your concerns directly through their official feedback channels (forums, email or even social media) could help push them to improve or reintroduce the classic UI option.

Actually, if you update the app to the newest version coach may be gone on puzzles for now

I don't know where to see the version number on PC, but I see the old interface! Thanks to the chess.com team

By the way. How do I get rid of the green hint arrow on my PC when viewing poorly solved puzzles?

The website doesn't have the new puzzle and I don't think coach is on the regular puzzle mode yet

The 'old' version of the app is back but unfortunately incomplete. There is no ranking value for the puzzle you are solving and my ranking change (it was in the bottom left corner of the screen). There is only my fun ranking. For children it is interesting but not everyone is a child. 🙁

I thinks some members show the rating on the new feature and some don't and that will likely change to all one way or the other at some point.
The primary focus of the new feature is designed to be points on the path with a de-emphasis on rating. I prefer seeing the rating changes too
