what is it with these strange players calling you names during games?

These keyboard bullies are hilarious and infuriating at the same time. They’ll call you a coward and threaten to report you for “stalling” (using your allotted time to calculate moves).

They remind me of that nut job who’d go around asking guys if they like to do some light sparring. But he’d actually sucker punch them once the gloves were on, then proceed to try to beat the crap out of them. This guy believed he was some kind of boxing champ. When he was just unstable and underdeveloped.

That’s how I see these guys that behave like man-children. There’s friendly banter and then there’s these awkward autistic tantrums. Lol man

I have a theory. Perhaps many of these people come from the lichens platform with both inflated ratings and egos that get shaken up when they have a hard time against, what they would consider “lower rated” players to them.

Then they just message you instead. Half the time they just say "Reported", like you're supposed to know what for. If you're lucky they'll gleefully pronounce you'll get banned for whatever infraction they imagine you've committed.

Sounds like it is just trash talk but if it is really offensive follow the instructions from @StumpyBlitzer.

They're called weak players, I never see higher rated players doing stuff like that. Never.  Unless they're friends already and just having fun.
