What is the function of the "Topics" page?

On V2, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Chess Topics" (after "Home"), you are directed to this page:

https://www.chess.com/topics

I'm completely dumbfounded as to why this page exists and what it's for. Any thoughts?

I'm on v3 but it looks like a tag cloud on blogging platforms. It shows some of the most common posted terms and links to a page that includes search results for that term across the site.

Oddly, I made the first page, so it must all be a big mistake.

So did cheater_1. And yet for some reason I can't find my own name. I'm guessing it's because searches for me were split between "macer" and "macer75." And "greatest troll on chess.com."

Surprised to see stockfish on page 34924.

Way back when, someone tried to make a "toppings" page as chess.com started out as a custom pizza delivery company but they goofed up thinking their boss said "topics" forgetting chess.com was all about the pizza and now we have a "topics" page and no pizza.

Oh... I see. That explains things.
