what is the grob

Grob is a chess opening. It isn't a strong opening (objectively), but it is a very tricky opening with a lot of traps. Luckily for you, I just made this video a week ago
The Grob is a chess opening stemming from Henry Grob and starting 1 g4?
It is objectively bad and loses by force, but e.g. the late IM Basman scored good results with it in practice.

Yes, but my video focuses more on the g4 lines where the g-pawn tends to be gambited. This sample game has 2. h3 to secure the pawn. This is slightly different (although similar motifs). In fact, I mentioned a few h3 ideas in the original recording, but edited them out as I believed it was slightly too far outside the scope of what I was wanting to convey in this video.

Since it's known to be the worst 1st move white can make and the only first move that possibly loses by force, I hope you showed how black can take it apart and that you didn't pretend that it's great for white. But I won't hold my breath.

That would probably be quite bad for black. It has to be treated a a blunder and acted upon.

I actually did mention how the engine claims 1. g4 is objectively white's worst opening move! I made this video because it is an opening with lots of tricks and cool patterns to learn, but I recognize it isn't the objectively best opening to try.
You would know this if you watched my video first Maybe give it a try and let me know what you think I could improve on in the video and how you like the Grob Gambit
