What memebership(if any) are worth the money?

Although I am a low rated player, I really seek to improve and it seems everything I want to do on the site is not available because I don't have a membership. Are any of them worth it?

The videos alone are worth it.  Than you get an excellent tactics trainer, access to tournaments.  I do not regret buying a diamond membership, when it expires I will renew in a heartbeat.

diamond or platnum

but diamond is better

What 2200 said plus the Chess Mentor has great courses that have most of my books gathering dust.

I've been eyeing membership options here for several weeks. To me it looks like buying diamond at the year rate gives you the most benefit for your money because you get all the options and tools and save 40% than doing so monthly. I think you pay almost $2 a week compared to a little over $3 if you paid monthly. Getting the other memberships doesn't seem to translate into as much or more benefit for its costs. I think the benefit for paid membership would be primarily for their Chess Mentor and Chess videos because those two things seem to be unique to this site and not readily replaceable from elsewhere, which you need a diamond membership for. I'd ask for it as a gift if I were you!

I have platinum and it's very good. You can do anything with platinum and dimond but chess mentor and the video lessons are only for dimond menbers

To me, being a free member, it seems that platinum would be the best deal, as it offers nearly as much as diamond for only half the price. video lessons and chess mentor are very useful training tools though

I can say free has been worth the money.

I would also suggest using some other sites that allow you to do some training for free, such as Chessity and Chesstempo. Chessity allows you to do 20 tactics problems a day for free (there are many games which usually include 9 tactics problems), and if you are in the middle of a game when you complete your 20 daily problems, you are allowed to finish the game. I do not use Chesstempo as much (probably because the gray colors don't look very inviting, but I have not found a limit to how many tactics problems a day you can do.

lol. It is true that the extra training options aren't worth the money unless you're going to use them often.

Chesstempo has no limit, and I find their gray colors soothing.

Diamond Does not feel like it is worth it... But it has helped me a lot. Just remember, use all the features!

Everyone learns best differently, too. Something to keep in mind when considering buying a membership here.
