I beat Duo pretty easily when I played it. I didn't think it was rated that high. I suspect that it's rating might be dependent on your choice of opening. If you play an opening that contains the name of a language (like the English) it might play stronger than if you play the Queen's Gambit (like I did).
It also might play better if you play the Bird's opening.

Play the Spanish and you get annihilated, you can win with the English
My elo is 1500. I beat duo first try with Caro-Kann. I think the elo depends on the opening
Language openings make it stronger. If not it is not that difficult to beat
I beat Duo EZ. Just make premoves in 1 min and bro gets destroyed
