What's the point of playing against the world?

Magnus is doing, many have done this in the past but what is the point?

  1. Is this really a challenge?
  2. World can't organize and make a collective plan, but solo player can. So no matter how many players join the vote, most average move will be played. Which will be most likely the first thing comes to mind.
  3. World votes will mostly be engine moves.
  4. Solo player can\will also analyze current position with an engine.

So I don't see any point in doing this.. am i missing something?

1. It's a marketing thing I think

2. Technically you discuss moves in the chat but I'm guessing 75% of people don't, so yes

3. Not enough people will use an engine for it to matter.

4. Exactly, solo player. Not enough to make a difference in the votes.
