hiii guys I am just curious, cuz i often do puzzles on both chess.com and lichess.org

(that was before i lost my diamond membership this April)

anyways i think both site's puzzles are great, but chess.com puzzles seems a lot more ideal, so i am just wondering whether chess.com hire staffs to make them up lol.

cuz i know lichess just grabs puzzles from real games (it literally gains like a puzzle in its database every few minutes from players contributing online in games lol)

the real cool thing about lichess is it actually allows you to know the puzzles you contributed (like on https://lichess.org/training/of-player it shows you puzzles extracted from your games)

idk if chess.com can develop a feature like that as well

then it will be real cool

and also title.

U will get banned for promoting lichess

LOl but i really like lichess puzzles cuz they are free and great (real cuz they are from real positions)

so i kinda feel guilty that i seldom play games there, contributing nothing to its database though doing thousands of puzzles there LOL

Most puzzles are pulled automatically from games played on site.

You should do chess tempo instead. Lichess puzzles comes from random lichess blitz games while chess tempo puzzles come from real OTB games

and chess.com puzzles are just artificial puzzles.

this is why I recommend chess tempo. I got more than 400 rating  when I started doing chess tempo. For playing, I recommend chess.com or lichess, but for puzzles you should do chess tempo.

Martin is right: https://www.chess.com/blog/CHESScom/how-we-built-a-puzzle-database-with-half-a-million-puzzles

(the daily puzzles on the other hand are way too artistic sometimes, and don't even play the best moves on both sides)

As far as I know the only app that makes puzzles out of your own games is Dr. Wolf (it's like a side-app by chess.com), which takes the games you play against the "teacher" and makes puzzles out of them, all while explaining everything. Now I'm trying the free trial and it's excellent because it explains everything clearly, it doesn't just thow the puzzle at you to solve it, for example he makes you play from his perspective to find the best move againsts your mistake/blunder, kind of like when you play against the trainer here on Chess but I feel it's more didactic.

BUT sadly it still is just from games you play against the machine.

I seriously don't understand why chess.com doesn't include that feature here if it's their own app, if they included that feature on diamond I wouldn't think about it twice, learning from our own mistakes is essential as we correct our thought process and understand more deeply the dynamics of the game

The chess puzzles, especially the daily puzzles, are great! I could find no way to contact Dane about his puzzle selection. There should be a way to pass on such appreciation but I could find no such forum.

I would like to pass on my gratitude to Dane Matheson for all the excellent and inspiring puzzles of the day. His selection and presentation of these puzzles deserve high praise. Please thank him for me by sending him an my gratitude and appreciation!
