I agree wih you goldendog, but you're fighting a lost battle. Popularity doesn't go hand in hand with quality, take for instance Harry Potter, as pure literature, the book quality is poor. Don't take me wrong, I read all the books and I quite enjoyed them, but JK Rowling is no Shakespeare nor Marlowe.
Another good example is 50 Shades of Grey, compare it with the Rosy Crucifixion by Henry Miller. 50 shades pales in comparison to it, but still it's been sold worldwide. The same goes for TV programmes, films, etc.
Same thing with Macer and Batgirl.
