I wouldn't call well known on chess.com, famous. It may be an interantional site and there may be many people here but, world leaders are known by millions and even billions of people, on the internet and IRL. Known by 50,000 people here is a mere drop in the bucket compared to the fame of others like, Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, George Bush, Barak Obama, Vladimir Putin, etc, etc...
