the most important thing was that Erik addressed the situation with as much information as possible as clearly as possible with no excuses.
A really big county you have there in England, OMG (chuckles), I live in the USA and mine was down too. "County-wide" indeed!!

oh was wondering why my game was still not timed out when it was supposed to be gone like 8 hours ago! Luckily for me i got there 7 minutes to go!!! I would have been annoyed if i had lost but all is good! Glad i didnt waste any of my precious vacation time! Keep up the good work kid!
Unfortunately a couple of my games times out, only had and hour or so left when the crash happened, waited and waited but eventually had to go to bed. Alas, glad to have the site back.

Yep, I'm guilty of the same thing. I tried every 15 minutes or so to log onto Chess.com to no avail. I just kinda sat there at my computer and said " well now what in the heck am i gonna do?" I ended up playing poker on myspace, not nearly as much fun as playing chess here!
i think it was my brothers fault. i bought the internet yesterday on ebay. and today he touched my comp for the first time in 2 years. darn u matthew!!!!
We we bombed out in South Carolina, too, this morning. GMail was off as was access to CNN and my local provider's e-mail.

well I couldn't get back into chess.com last night and I am keep getting this message "502 bad gateway" did you get the same message too? Does it mean anything ?

Everybody noticed the chess.com went down this morning for 5 hours and Google Gmail, and Warcraft also. Here is my take. The Mars Mercury conjuntion coming up is doing an amazing pull on the shadow affect of the passing Merc retro. This is the only thing I can see chess.com is totally ruled by Mars Mercury so is Warcraft and gmail??? This is coming to a climax on the 28. Who out there ison this? I need a little feed back on this Rolef

It's okay, we all know the cause of the site being down was a result of the economic stimulus plan.
yeah,i freaked out,i was going through internet chess withdrawl,there are other chess sites,but not as good as chess.com!
