Why do 2000 rated players lose to low rated in 960 chess? Bewildered me

I have no idea tbh..

Ive seen lots tons of them losing.( After a 960 blitz game I check my opponent right away and some are 2000 rated !

and shockingly they not only lose to me but other low rat ed players)

..which will never happen if its standard chess coz we will be annihilated 100% for sure ha ha ha

Pls dont tell me coz they are not strong or dont know how to play 960 chess..

before you start hating on people at 960 chess. Get good at regular chess where you still get destroyed bc no one cares abt 960 😂

I mean it's tricky and opening theory is quite important

5, you don't need to have any opening theory to get to 2000.. I barely study theory and just know a few lines and I know many others the same.

And I see youre a high 2400 bullet player and a 2200 blitz player

My opponent above is even higher rated than you,he's a 2600 blitz player !

And I just destroyed him!

Can you pls check my game against him above and comment on how I demolished this 2600 in 23 moves , after I sacrificed my knight and bishop vs him?

I'm 2100+ on my alt on chess.com and I lost to someone who is 900 in all other time controls but 1700 in Chess960.

Besides, Chess960 ruins your real chess strength so I don't play it.

I wouldn't expect a huge difference in rapid rating to chess 960. Maybe a few hundred rating points at most. What's more likely is chess 960 with 3 min time control closer aligns to blitz rating and maybe the 2000 player(s) you observe are lower rated in blitz.
