I think the .com in chess.com stands for the community. It can't be matched...
Why do you like Chess.com?

Never a dull moment. Chess.com is a buzzing beehive of activity, both on the chess board and off it. Games, tournaments, puzzles, training programmes and chess articles and discussions to keep your game improving; and blogs, posts, forums, arguments and banter to keep your interest going. A big value for what is a small amount of money.

The learning features on Chess.com are second to none, and lots of them are completely free!
I signed up for a premium membership for the following:
1. To support what the staff are doing. It's your livelyhood and you deserve it. You can tell by the commitment and attention to detail that the staff have a passion for Chess and want to share that passion whilst making an honest living out of it at the same time.
2. The game time-out safety. I am often too busy to come onto the site and make my moves so this is a really good safety feature for me as I wouldn't like to let my opponents down by defaulting a game on time.
3. Unlimited use of the tactics trainer, it's excellent and really sharpens your ability to spot patterns in positions.
4. The extra time on Chess Mentor, although individually paid for from what I have used of it I have found it interesting and beneficial. I intend to buy more time for this in future.
A

I play serious correspondence ches elsewhere. This is the fun side of chess, my chess club if you like. I can come in here of an evening and play a few moves, chat with a few friends, do a bit of study, maybe even contribute occasionally. There are other sites I have used for that same purpose but none have been as pleasant to be on as this one. I think part of the appeal is simply that the continual presence of staff ensures that the internet hooligans do not ruin the conversation in the forums. There is less of the paranoia and suspicion that rules on some sites.
Why did I become a premium member? Quite simply because this site deserves support. Although I have tried the various "perks" that premium members get I cannot say that I use them more than occasionally or that I would not have paid up if they were not available. When I came here first many of those features were not available and still were not at the time that premium membership came into being. I bought the level of membership I did because I got a free membership to give my son and I did not want my support for this site to cease after just one payment. basically, the fee I paid is like the annual subscription to a club. I would not feel right coming here and using the facilities without contributing in some way.

The community itself makes the difference forme. I can play chess any where but I perfer chess.com better because of the community

There were some comments here and in other discussions along similar lines. You might consider using some of them.
i love chess.com cause almost everything for fun , sharpening your tactics , can make you improve! there are so many things to do like tactics trainer, correspondence chess, live chess , joining and communicating with other members , groups , chess mentor , improving your rating and so much more!

'Cos it rocks the Kasbar. Honestly, Erik, this is the best there is. In all the other sites I've been to, I've felt like I couldn't participate. I am a long term patzer, and there is nothing, I swear to god, NOTHING as good as chess.com for someone at my level. I feel like I'm a part of a global community, improving my game daily.
You wait till I've got a job, I'll get bang on premium membership.

Chess.com is a well designed site with a great community feel, excellent features and approachable and responsive administrators. It is well worth the subscription fee for almost any one of its features alone, but for all that is on offer it is a real bargain. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking a website where they can improve their chess and enjoy participating in the online community.

Why do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Seriously, I love this game tremendously and I haven't even been everywhere here. User friendly is defined by Webster here! I am not computer savvy at all and don't have any problem traversing this site. The only problem here is some of the people! And they know who they are.

This site is easily the best chess site there is because:
-You can join for free, and you get a lot more features on a free account than other chess sites.
-It's turn-based and live chess, one account for two different ways of playing chess
-Tourneys, free players can still play in tourneys
-It's not just about playing, you have blogs, articles, puzzles, the quiz, videos, downloads, free e-mail, etc.
-This site helps you learn, Tactics trainer, puzzles, and the community.
There are a stack of features, premium or free member, and that's why this is proabably the biggest chess site ever!
oh, you people write too much. my answer:
This site rocks!
