You tell me you are going to Minsk but you want me to think you are going to Pinsk, yet I know you are going to Minsk. So why do you lie?

That sounds really familiar. Is it from a movie?

Kinda makes ya think, what time the staff is gonna come around to delete that post, full of foul language lol.

PCNW, what's obvious is that you are a whining weakshit bitch who makes pouty threads about refusing to pay for membership. Are you expect admins to grovel at your feet and suck your dick?

Oh my. Aren't we just intimidating? Why don't you throw a few more four and five letter words at me and maybe my knees will start to shake, too.

Might one enquire as to the size of said pants? Innocent

Well. It sticks out further than my gut. But then, my gut's not really all that big. So don't be expecting a whole lot. Lol

There's a site in Spanish named Buho21. There you can choose the option "who disconnects loses". I managed to get a good rating there, and once a guy, after beating me badly, said: "how did you get that rating? By disconnection of opponents?" It's a common joke there. Of course the proper answer is: "take account I'm tired of f***ing your wife". It's a lovely site, I strongly recommend it.

Embarassed One wasn't enquiring as to their contents, but thanks for the info.

I'll make a note of that. :)

Twice in a row already I have had people abandon a game because they were losing. They couldn't just resign and accept their loss with dignity. They have to waste my time. And yet there is no way of reporting these players. The only option for reporting is if you are being harassed. Otherwise, you have to simply sit there and wait for the time to come up in which a message pops up saying that the other play MAY HAVE violated their fair play policy and that their account will be reported. Yeah. Fat chance. In the mean time, my time is being wasted by some chump who is too ashamed to just resign. The one time I brought this up to a member of staff was during a 30 minute game in which the other player refused to move. You know what they told me? Play shorter games. WHAT? There is a reason I play 30 minute games. I'm not a strong enough player to play 10 minute games and I'm crap in blitz. I need time to think about my moves. I admit this and I'm not ashamed of it. Why should I have to play a shorter game because other people don't know how to take a loss? And this is why I will NEVER pay for a membership. Why do I want to pay to have my time wasted? There is no option for reporting these people other than leaving a note on their profile. A whole lot of good that does. If this keeps up, I'll just end up leaving the site completely. Chess.com seriously needs to have an option for reporting people like this on the spot because this is getting ridiculous. The last person I played didn't even have a bad connection. In fact, their connection was better than mine. So that is no excuse.

Untrue about reporting. I had a guy do this... disappear, come back so the clock wouldn't run out, leave again... so I went into the live chat with support, told them about it, and the admin looked at my game and ended it, with a warning issued to the player. From clicking the link and telling the admin, the whole thing took maybe a minute, if that. So perhaps instead of getting all upset and stamping your feet about paid membership, maybe you should take a closer look at the game options... such as the live support you apparently haven't noticed... Wink

Maybe you should take a closer look at my original post. Because then you would see that I mentioned the time I had gone to live support. Despite it being clearly stated in my original post, I'll put it right here so that you can see it:

The one time I brought this up to a member of staff was during a 30 minute game in which the other player refused to move. You know what they told me? Play shorter games.

If you're not a troll then you wouldn't have to say that. No sense in denying a negative. I do not have to deny being a troll because the fact that I'm the one who started the thread and I'm only replying to comments in my own thread speaks for itself. But some people, such as yourself apparently, need that clarified.

Chess "used" to be a Gentlemen's game, often it seems social graces are missing. As the saying goes, “Gracious in Victory, Humble in Defeat. However I gladly pay for the services and added value which is supplied. But in general on most sites like this we its members are like ships passing in the night and like life nothing is black and white but it has many colors. Everywhere nice and sometimes unpleasant people, we make positive and negative experiences every day, but I dont understand why you bother with a person or person's who irritate you and complain since this only creates more negative energy for yourself. In the end you only demage your own harmony.

Thanks for posting this -- I agree completely.  This site, like the internet (and real life) in general, has a varied mixture of helpful and cynical people.  I think this will always be the case since the self-delusional "victory" of upsetting strangers is a such a low-hanging fruit.  So we might as well grow a thick skin and learn to ignore provacateurs and snarky malcontents whose goal is to stir up the negative emotions of others.

To the OP: your point is valid and worth posting, but many will react to your post negatively because it has been brought up so many times before (which is understandable since chess.com does not seem to react in any meaningful or obvious way).

Don't let the juvenile posts discourage you.  Seek out helpful folks and ignore the rest.  The good aspects of this site, including many informative forum participants, still make it worthwhile.

And thank you, Turbofish, for posting this. I just joined this site yesterday and was quite perplexed by the number of childish and unhelpful comments made to the OP.

And yet my "ranting" has garnered me productive comments that have actually gone the way of helping me with my problem (see baddogno and aerodarts) as where you have offered up absolutely nothing. Maybe one day you can be as useful and productive as them.

Are you just a whiny 13 year old who can't handle criticism and therefor needs to go out of there way to call people unproductive and useless? Because that's exactly how you look to me. Hate to break this to you, but complaining about this crap on a thread is both unproductive and useless.

I joined not knowing there was a pay side of chess.com.

I'm going to get used to the free part and if I like it, then pay.
