Why I'm leaving Chess.com

Ok I'm leaving chess.com.

I had to entertain several guest tonight, and since they insisted to "Move!!" constantly, I'm fed up, and will not be back for 7 or 8 hours or so. I want to thank friends, opponents and adversaries. Now leave me alone.

I don't understand why "people leaving the site" should be a forum topic, I'm getting fed up with all this nonsense. Reservesmonkey, you sound like a good guy who is letting these losers and abusers control your day, instead of leaving, you should concentrate on the good people on the site, anyway, you made your decision and I respect it. I wish you the best wherever you go. Now, for people who complain about the site, I challenge you to create a better one. If you can't do that, then be quiet and just leave, we don't need you around. Cheaters and abusers: those losers will remaing among us until the end. Just don't play them and ignore them. Why give them publicity in the forums? Why make them important? Thank God for people like Erik.

Hi,I'm new here and I've never written one of these things. I've played on many sites. I like to play the game ...alot. I'm not all that good or talented but do enjoy playing so I don't chat when I play. This is just about the most benign and genteel site I have ever played on. If you have peoblems with this site don't go to Yahoo it's like a bar room brawl by comparison. Most games are 5min or shorter and you never get over 10min to a move. Abuse is very common and public chat is full of porno bots trying to get you to thier web sites. Managment does try its best to keep it clean. I do like to play there though and I will be staying here also, it keeps you very sharp to play under the gun.

Reservesmonkey, but by God, you complain too much. I tried to send you a message but couldn't because you only accept messages from friends. Do you actually have friends? Also, it looks to me like you are not even interested in improving your game. For God's sake man, everyone here start with a 1200 rating, you have played well over 400 games and you are still below 1200. You are going backwards, my friend. If you continue playing against losers, you will always be a loser. Life is not fair, so GET OVER IT!!! If you are going to leave, leave once and for all.

well... i don't know about you but I love this site... personally I have no problems with any of these because I play for fun not for ratings... It's pretty funny though that people take ratings so seriously.

I hate to see anyone leave.  While I don't have all the answers to your issues, I do have one suggestion that may help.  If I understand one of your issues it is people using strong language trying to force you to move.  I am assuming this is the message box next to the playing board.  If this is how they are doing it, there is a disable feature above which would prevent additional comments.  Also so you do not have to view current ones you could switch to moves so it doesn't appear.  In any case whatever you decide the very best to you in your future.  May God Bless You.

I disagree with you OP. I can see where you coming from.

As a relative low intermediate player, I have found virtually all players to be patient, except for one who taunted me for bad moves. I play for the adrenaline rush in defeating a superior opponent or making a semi planned good move. I think I take it too seriously. A 5 loss run can get me depressed a bit. I came back to chess after a 50 year hiatus.
