I know, personally, I don't do chat. I just don't. I think it's rude for it to be there. I think its especially rude, of the site, I mean, to suggest you say "good game" when you've already made a point of turning off chat. The way to say good game is to say x was a good sport. That's always seemed appropriate. I think not doing chat is just a way of simplifying the experience. It might also be a generational thing??? For instance, in the world of video games, my experience was with the Playstation 1, and when I hear now about the 4, and how it's *more* complicated to play, and has you putting on a headset and talking to people, it's kind of crazy to me.
Or it could be cultural. I *really* don't think it's about the sentiment itself, but about using a chat function when talking online in realtime is irritating.
