I mostly play long games.
And why does know one get that the ability of that IM (and any other person) to use dead draws to advantage is why 5 minute is not as good as 3|2.

Just to once again make the point. On reddit chess recently Greg Shahade gets clocked in an obvious drawn position that his opponent was not trying to make progress in. His opponent was an IM and not imune to being a moron.
Greg likes to play on time too. When you play chess, as in life, time is a factor of the game.
I also play time. I will clock you in a philidor to get the win (either side)
The point is that 3|2 eliminates this "strategic factor"
It seems to take 10 times as long to find a game at 3|2 then 5|0 even though 3|2 is a far better format.
Is it as I suspect that most of you enjoy being clock playing morons.
I certainly have learned to adapt to 5|0 but why are we not migrating to 3|2?
10 min is the most popular time control

Of course, the original question was asked almost 3 years ago.
To be honest i did not look at the date, my bad. Why are people resurrecting 3 year old threads anyway?

Because it better than starting a new one on the same topic
JGambit, why not just play 15/10 or 30/30 or 45/45 or 90/30.
Yes, i suck at playing bullet. Have played 5 min but never 3/2 as i dont like 3 minute games. Maybe the 2 second can do a difference, maybe not.
BTW, i think the IM was VERY clever for playing on time in a dead draw game! He/She just won because of taking advantage of a loop hole. Chess is a game of taking advantage.
