RJC had premium accounts in the past. He and I are of the same generation. I think he will be back. Good guy.
Our lost member will most likely not return
A lot of my friends left and I never saw them again.
+1
Yes we seem to be losing more and more of our long-term members as time goes by, things don't seem to be as friendly here as they used to be. The auto-bots are watching us night and day plus " Other Eyes " are on us as well including self appointed busy-bodies, etc etc ( please please watch your step people ).
well, they might not come back if they have too much ego but if they just stop for some years and take it seriously instead of just a hobby then they might return
(there have been some cases in which a person forgets his password and cannot link his google or facebook so he creates a new account)

this guy is like the only new member who gets old members
If you were CEO which would you prioritize?
The longevity of individuals? Or the the abundance of them?
Consider that longevity isn't associated with an increased transfer of wealth. A 100 year member pays just as much as a new member.
Therefore the CEO is logically interested in appealing to as many new users as possible. Of course chess.com can't become chesskid.com because Erik's lifespan is ~80 years, so he needs his company to remain profitable not on a scale of months, but the scale of a few decades. That means many of the 12 year olds he attracts will grow into adults, whose tastes will need to be counterbalanced with the inane newblood children.
The result is as we see it. Adults can tolerate the chess community, but it's mostly for children. The profits are just long term enough to satisfy pragmatic businessmen -- but nothing in excess of that.
The bottom line is that while your topic title venerates veterans of the community, the management couldn't care less. Remember that in this place respectable ideals such as chess and community are in reality just a vehicle of wealth transfer. Your "lost members" are monetarily meaningless.
If you want to really be a part of the community, consider starting an off-topic post about counting. That will contribute more (to Erik's bank account) than members like GOP ever did.
Don't believe me? Look at who they ban. They ban GOP, not counting topics.
Thank goodness they're keeping us safe from an actual community by letting topics like this go unchecked:

They are all snowflakes with free accounts that got their feelings hurt. Good riddance. I am sure someone can find a Hurt feelings report form that they could file with staff. 🤣
