Wrong League qualification system

I noticed that on these new leagues the qualification system is off. For example, on the Silver league, the first 5 qualify to Crystal. But if there are several people tied in score among the top 5, it actually benefits the ones that come below, because now more people qualify as it's considering the tied spots as one.
Is that a bug or is it intended to be that way? Seems not only unfair, but kind of badly thought out.

This is what I mean, right now 7 people are qualifying to the next stage, but actually #4 and #5 shouldn't be on that spot (and in fact once/if the ties for #1 and #2 break, they go back out of the wualifying spots).

That's the design. It was pointed out early on, after it changed from the way beta had it, and the site decided to keep it like that. Can't say it won't change in the future.

Oh, OK. Makes no sense to me.

I don't see the sense, if 5 people go through, I don't see why in the case of a tie, more than 5 go through. The only scenario in which it would make sense is if more than 5 people are tied on the first spot.

The things don't make sense, it's just our perception my friend 🐣
