Can I give up the knight for the pawn in this position?

It's a basic Knights Pawn VS Knight endgame. But I am not sure will it be safe to give the knight up for the pawn. I've found exactly the same position in the 100 Endgames You Must Know book there it's been said that it's safe. But why?
