Can this Position be Reached by Force ?
(& may it be w/ u !)

White to Move

(...assume "Best Play" by Black)

Here's my try...

...but this isn't "forced".
1...Kf8 (Kd8) is a stupid move...as Black would just play their knight offa e7.
Thee_Ghostess_Lola

....and replacing the Black Knight with a Black Pawn doesn't work either as black would just capture at f6.

Of course, White wins if it can reach the position in Quote #1, but that's just my dumb brain doing strange things on squares.   ::/

....trying again....
Great !...but quickly seeing that 1. Rh8++....so, moving the pieces over to get ridda that ?

Great !....but the intermezzo 1...Ra6+ stops that.

So....stuck again....help ?....anyone ?

An easy solution would be to set the position like in the diagram before white moves fxe7+, I think. tongue.png

Why not just the final diagram but with, say, a Black bishop on e6 instead of a R on a7? Then, after Rxf7 Black loses whether he takes the rook or not.

Thx James !....yes I think this may work:

....and we get there (could substitute the white bishop for a white pawn....works too).
Tho' on & on & on we reverse....'cuz how do we get HERE w/out black collecting either the Bishop or pawn....oh well.   ::/

same thing if pawn is on d6.

In #6/2 1 gf+ wins.

What I'm trying to do is recreate Quote #1. I'm trying to create it using the b or g files. I'm almost certain u can't do it on the a or h files. IDEK if the c thru f files can be forced yet 'cuz I hafta keep stepping back one more move in the reverse play process (ahhh !).

I thought I had it in Quote #10 but backing up ahaffa move ?....why wouldn't black just capture at d6 or f6 & ruin it 4me ?

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

IOW's, how would I ever reach the set position at Quote #10....w/ white to move ?

Thee_Ghostess_Lola
This may do it, but I'm not quite sure yet.

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

....and btw, (2) things. How do u find out how many ppl have viewed this ?....and how do I change the title ?

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

....lemme google it.

Here's one that may be more "real" & definitely forced....
....yay !

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

Sadly, the problem w/ the above is that Black is going from an ez draw (Bxp) to a loss. So, black's move prior to white's 1. Be5+ would probably be from somewhere (a3 thru e7 diagonal) to 0... Bf8.

So, I ask myself, why wouldn't black's bishop grab the a1-h8 diagonal ?

....oh well. On & on & on we press the reverse button !

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

All this takes me to a double knight wingydingy....kinda like on quote #16.

Maybe something more picturesque could be....

Black draws by force if he doesn't allow the white king to get in front of the pawn
