Thanks for this.  I just finished studying and practicing the two bishop mate.  According to Golombek in "The Game of Chess" this mate can be delivered in 18 moves from the worst possible configuration.

Not entirely true , after messing around with the namilov base I found that this position requires 19 moves! :o

The rules allow you only 50 not 127 moves to get a mate, otherwise the game is drawn.


 yeah then i suppose you don´t know the rules and therefore maybe better read them!

50 moves without a piece captured or a pawn move is a draw
