Hello Chess.com!

Starting with 2016, we will be posting a Weekly Study, courtesy of Yochanan Afek, Grandmaster for composing endgame studies. These challenging positions are designed to stimulate (and improve upon!) your creativity, depth of calculation, pattern recognition and pure imagination.

A long series of cat and mouse double attacks by Black to try to get a drawn K+R vs K+R+B ending until the domination theme unfolds.  The student can learn much from this study, especially the final domination of the rook in the center of the board by the two bishops and king.

I checked and this composition won first prize, and I can see why.  All considered, an elegant study.
