Endgame book

Hi all,

Looking at my game, I seem to make most of my mistakes at the endgame... I simply don't know what to do...

I'm talking when there are few pieces left on the board and it's pretty tight in material or even positioning (ie: a bunch of pawns and a rook).

Maybe I don't set myself up well enough in the middle game? But then again, when we get to the endgame, its usually very close in material and positioning.

So I was looking at books to read and made some research... Silman's Complete endgame course? Seemed like it was recommended by many. I also want Silman Amateur mind book but its out of stock at my local book store.

Pandolfini's Endgame Course is a good place to start. I also like Chess Endings: Essential Knowledge by Averbach, as well as Practical Chess Endings by Chernev. I have the Silman book on endgames, which is also very good.

The Amateur's Mind book is more focused on strategy and planning rather than endgames.

I have Stilman's book. I would definitely recommend it. I use it along with Practical Chess Endings by Irving Chernev.
