Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to improve my endgame skills, and I’d love to hear how you study them. Which endgame positions should every player master first? (., king & pawn vs. king, basic rook endings, opposition, etc.) Do you prefer learning endgames from books, videos, or practice drills? Personally, I’ve been practicing king and pawn endgames, and I’m starting to see how important small details like zugzwang and opposition really are. But I often struggle with more complex rook endgames. Here are a few famous endgame puzzles to discuss and solve: Puzzle 1: King & Pawn FEN: 8/8/8/2k5/2P5/8/8/K7 w - - 0 1 Task: White to move and win. Puzzle 2: Rook & Pawn vs Rook FEN: 8/8/8/3k4/3P4/8/8/4K1R1 w - - 0 1 Task: White to move and win. Puzzle 3: Minor Pieces Endgame FEN: 8/8/2k5/8/2B5/8/8/K7 w - - 0 1 Task: White to move and win. Try to find the winning methods and explain why they work! I’d love to hear your strategies, favorite resources, or tips for building a strong foundation in endgames.
