Can someone please advise if it is possible to do a checkmate in the following instances:
1. Black - only KING remaining (all other pieces gone)
WHITE - only Queen and King remaining
2. Black - as above
White - only Castle and King remain on the board
3. Black - as above
White - only Bishop and King remain on the board

As far as I know (because I am a very poor chess player) it is impossible to do a checkmate with such little material and all you can get is a ridiculous stalemate situation and hence cannot win even though you have a stronger postion in pieces left.
If I am wrong can someone please show how a checkmate can be done with such few pieces and with the opponent only having the King on the board.
Sorry if this has been asked before but I cannot find an answer. So thanks for any help and clarification.
