Moving king into line of pinned piece?

I am currently in a tournament game in which I have pinned my opponents knight to their king. I would like to move my king into a spot that the knight would normally be able to attack, but this is not an option. What is the logic behind not being able to move into line of a piece that is absolutely pinned?

The logic is that when your King moves to the square that the Knight protect then it can be captured. And only after this capture can you capture the enemy King. If capture of the King was allowed your King would be captured first, and you will lose the game.
