Rook and pawns endgame

The game was played OTB and was agreed to a draw because neither myself or the other player could see an advantage out of the position. Is it a draw or would this be a decisive game?

Without analysing the position deeply, I would say that Black is  better, because his King is closer to the weak pawns on the a-file. But I think the draw is the proper result anyway.

Huh, I would think White is superior.  White's rook is much more active, Black's king is tied to defense of f7, and White's pawns are more advanced.  If White were to play Kg4 and follow with h5, Black would be in trouble.

However, it's Black to move, and playing ...h5 first makes it a much more difficult task for White.  White could pitch a pawn on f5 to advance his king through the dark squares, but it's unclear to me if that's adequate for a win; probably not.

well, it seems you haven't heard of the saying "all rook endings are drawn."Smile

white seems to have more space here but I guess it's equal. if you aren't kramnik playing against Leko, you can never know how things will turn out though. In my experience players sometimes relax too much in such drawish positions and make mistakes (that includes me).
