Support on how to checkmate with Queen versus Knight

Dears, I am struggling with 1st exxercise of studies of finals / knight category. After pawn gone to queen, I can't separate black knight from its king... aby support on how to proceed ? I could not find any video on it. Thanks ☺

1. This should be in "For Beginners."

 

2. Assuming you know how to mate with a king and queen vs a lone king, almost the same strategy applies here, but you have to avoid any knight fork tricks. One of the easiest ways to do this is by putting the king and queen on different colored squares.

 

3. You likely won't have to worry about this endgame very much. It's useful to study endgames, but knowing every single combination of pieces is not necessary.

As soon as black knight has escaped more than 3 cells from his king close to the border it is easy to block him amd capture with king. But I don't see clearly how to separaye them.

Just found a very good video on it. Not the easiest mate though...

There's no need to separate the knight from the king, just focus on delivering checkmate. K+Q vs K+N is barely any harder than K+Q vs K. The knight really doesn't slow things down much.
